New Jersey is one of the few states in the U.S. Where you can play in both online and physical (or “brick and mortar”) casinos. While there used to be no option between piling into a car and going to Atlantic City or playing a game locally with friends, New Jersey’s labor toward legalizing online gambling has made a new option. Casino in the Park opened on Oct. 12, 1950, in Jersey City. The banquet hall and restaurant was used for parties and fundraisers and included visits from the likes of Muhammad Ali and former. JERSEY CITY — The public got its first look Wednesday at plans for the restaurant and event venue that will replace Casino in the Park, the longtime Lincoln Park institution that closed in 2017.
Hudson County officials and representatives from Landmark Developers unveiled renderings of the 25,000-square-foot building that will rise in place of the banquet hall during a public meeting Wednesday night.

They need to do an article about that old Al's Diner right outside the casino on Communipaw. I'ts been abandoned for few years now. Has a few broken windows & looks like that used junk car dealership next door took over that back lot with chopped up cars & trash in the back.

Too late to save old Casino in the Park, but there may be a new one Quigley
Posted Mar 4, 8:00 AM
By Joan Quigley For The Jersey Journal
The place used to be filled with glowing brides, harried event organizers and bellowing politicians. But now the only occupants are squirrels, mice and pigeons. Where there used to be tall centerpieces, hard liquor, cheap wine, vanilla ice cream in aluminum parfait dishes, and the all-year-round Christmas tree, now there are only fallen tiles, ripped wires, and puddles of stagnant water.
